Programs for Graduate Students Offered by the Unit for Criticism and Interpretive Theory
- The Unit sponsors a number of on-campus activities (e.g., conferences, guest lecturers, courses, criticism seminars, colloquium series, etc.) that Unit students and faculty know about before anyone else on campus. Occasionally, such events are restricted to Unit members.
- The Unit has a limited budget for supporting graduate students who are presenting papers related to criticism and interpretive theory at off-campus conferences. Only Unit students are eligible to apply for these travel funds.
- Unit students have a say in deciding what speakers the Unit brings to campus, as the Unit Advisory Committee (which ultimately makes these decisions) relies heavily on Unit student input.
- Unit students and faculty have access to the Unit's extensive, multi-disciplinary collection of essays and articles; they are entitled to photocopy them in our office for their own research.
- Unit students are placed on the Unit for Criticism listserv, which provides information about upcoming events, course offerings, and other Unit programs.
- Unit students are encouraged to drop by the Unit and consult with the Director about their programs of study, their research interests, and the Unit certification process.
- The Unit for Criticism is pleased to regularly offers a fellowship to the summer School for Criticism and Theory at Cornell University.
