Stephen Watt is Professor and Chair of English at Indiana University— Bloomington. A frequent collaborator with Cary Nelson, Watt is the co-author of Academic Keywords: A Devil’s Dictionary for Higher Education (Routledge, 1999) and Office Hours: Activism and Change in the Academy (Routledge, 2004). A specialist in American and Irish drama, Watt is also the author or editor of such books as Postmodern/Drama: Reading the Contemporary Stage, (U of Michigan P, 1998), Marketing Modernisms (U of Michigan P, 1996), American Drama: Colonial to Contemporary (Harcourt Brace, 1995), and Joyce, O'Casey, and the Irish Popular Theater (Syracuse UP, 1991).
