Wendy Brown: "'God Will Provide': Moral Values and Neoliberalism in Thinking the Short and Long Term." Wendy Brown teaches in the Political Science Department at the University of California, Berkeley. She draws on canonical and contemporary political theory, cultural theory, and legal theory to think critically about late modern liberal democracy. Recent books include States of Injury: Power and Freedom in Late Modernity (Princeton, 1995); Politics Out of History (Princeton, 2001), Left Legalism/Left Critique, co-edited with Janet Halley (Duke, 2002), and Edgework: Essays on Knowledge and Politics (Princeton, forthcoming 2005). She has just completed a manuscript entitled Regulating Aversion: A Critique of Tolerance in the Age of Identity and Empire, which will be published in 2006. |
