Pradeep Jeganathan "Disciplinarity and Politics: An Awkward Relationship" Abstract: This paper seeks to work through the relationship of politics to disciplinarity, by commenting on three texts: Bernard Cohn's "History and Anthropology: the State of Play", Louis Althusser's "Lenin and Philosophy", and Michel Foucault's "Politics and Study of Discourse." In so doing, I shall try to delianate what (after Marilyn Strathern) I will call the "awkward" relationship between the two fields.
