Amelia Lyons is a Mellon postdoctoral fellow in the Humanities at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is currently revising her manuscript, Invisible Immigrants: Algerian Families and the French Welfare State during the Era of Decolonization, 1947-1974 and working on several articles. Lyons received her Ph.D. in modern European history from the University of California, Irvine in June 2004. She spent two years as visiting assistant professor at Claremont McKenna College and has recently accepted a tenure track position in French history at the University of Central Florida in Orlando.
