David Lloyd is Professor of English at the University of Southern California and is Hartley Burr Alexander Chair in the Humanities of Scripps College, Claremont. Born in Dublin, Lloyd specializes in literature and colonialism, modern Irish literature, and poetry. Among his many authored books are Ireland After History (1999), Culture and State (1997; with Paul Thomas), Anomalous States: Ireland and the Postcolonial Moment (1993), and Nationalism and Minor Literature (1987). He has also coedited The Politics of Culture in the Shadow of Capital (1997) with Lisa Lowe and The Nature and Context of Minority Discourse (1990) with Abdul JanMohamed.
